Enacting a critical reimagining of the "Romería de la Melonera," this project reactivated a historic community gathering that had been largely suppressed since the arrival of fascism in 1936. Grounded in the belief that popular festivals are fundamental to the formation of a community, the intervention utilized the street as a stage to commemorate a shared past and reclaim public space through a "playful staging."   The process culminated in a mobile romería that traced a symbolic route: starting at the Hermitage of the Virgin of the Port—originally built as a place of worship for the Manzanares River washerwomen—the procession moved through the streets of Segovia and Juan Duque accompanied by a traditional charanga band.
